So Much for the Schedule
Every night this week, the bear has been back.
He has been absolutely trashing the orchard.
We have really been trying to keep up with him, but after a few nights it became pretty obvious that we were losing.
One night, he climbed a tiny volunteer plum tree right outside our bedroom window.
It is way too small to hold a bear.
If that tree had snapped, he could have gone straight through the glass into our bedroom.
That was just too much.
My husband and I both changed our work plans and spent the next two days picking.
All the apples and almost all of the grapes and the few pears that decided to grow this year.
Even if things weren't ready, we had to pick them anyway.
That was basically our week. Picking, processing, and getting woken up in the middle of the night by loud rustling around in the dark.
Worth Noticing
And strangely enough, the astrology is pretty busy too.
September 10 brings a Virgo New Moon, Mercury moves into Libra, Venus moves into Scorpio, and Uranus stations retrograde in Gemini.
A lot shifts at once.
Virgo season always brings me back to what actually needs doing.
Not what I hoped I would get done.
Not what was on the list Monday morning.
What needs doing now.
That has definitely been the mood around here.
Sometimes plans change because life changes.
Sometimes they change because there is a bear in the plum tree outside your bedroom.
Current Astrological Landscape
The Sun continues through Virgo this week, keeping our attention on the practical parts of life.
Work.
Schedules.
Health.
The things that need tending.
Then September 10 brings a lot of movement at once.
The Virgo New Moon gives us a chance to look at our routines and priorities and make some adjustments.
Mercury moves into Libra, shifting some of our attention toward conversations, relationships, and decisions that involve other people.
Venus moves into Scorpio on the same day, bringing a little more depth to relationships, money, and the things we value.
And Uranus stations retrograde in Gemini.
Uranus is the unpredictable one.
Plans change. New information comes in. Something you hadn't considered suddenly needs your attention.
With all of this happening on the same day, September 10 could feel like a bit of a turning point.
Not necessarily a dramatic one.
But enough to make us look at where we are, what has changed, and what needs our attention now.
Expanded Transit
The Virgo New Moon on September 10 feels especially relevant this week.
New Moons are usually talked about as beginnings, but I don't think every beginning needs to be something new.
Sometimes it's simply deciding what needs your attention now.
Virgo is practical that way.
There are things we have control over and things we don't.
I can't stop a bear from wandering onto our property in the middle of the night.
But I can pick the fruit.
That doesn't solve the bear problem.
It just deals with the part of it we can actually do something about.
With Uranus stationing retrograde on the same day, there may be things happening in our own lives that we didn't plan for either.
We may have to change course.
Move something around.
Deal with something sooner than expected.
Or accept that the plan we made last week doesn't really work anymore.
Sometimes that's just life.
And sometimes that's exactly what needs doing.
You Might Notice
plans changing at the last minute
something practical becoming more urgent than expected
a need to reorganize your week
new information changing your priorities
feeling clearer about what actually needs your attention
