Too Much On My Mind
Last week I wrote about finally having a little room to breathe.
Well.
That didn't last long.
This week has been hectic. Work has piled up, there are too many things that need doing, and I feel completely bogged down by it all.
I took my car into the city for what I thought was routine maintenance and ended up spending $3000.
That took not only a day of my precious time but also had a financial domino effect. Especially because I just spent $2000 on an emergency brake job last month.
First World Problems. I know.
I also just can't seem to shake this nagging feeling of dread and anxiety that is looming over me.
It's like my thoughts are swirling around too fast to settle down enough to make sense of all the things that I need to do in order to feel better.
Somewhere in the middle of all of this, I did manage to get outside for a while.
The hops were ready to harvest, and so were the rosehips.
I picked both.
I can't say it magically cleared my head.
But it did make me feel better to be outside harvesting plants.
Go figure.
Worth Noticing
We move out of Virgo season and into Libra season this week.
And I have to say, I am ready for a change of scenery.
Virgo season has gone by rather quickly, but it has also made it very difficult to ignore the lists, the work, the things that need fixing and all the little details that seem to multiply when no one is looking.
As the Sun moves into Libra, our attention begins to shift toward relationships, balance, decisions and how we're dividing our time and energy.
Which sounds lovely in theory.
Then, on September 26, we have a Full Moon in Aries.
And Aries isn't particularly interested in keeping everything perfectly balanced.
Aries asks what you need.
That feels especially significant because Chiron just retrograded back into Aries on September 17, returning us to some of the territory around identity and our own needs that we talked about last week.
So while Libra may have us looking at everything we're trying to manage, Aries may make it harder to ignore ourselves in the process.
The Full Moon is exact at 3°37′ Aries on September 26.
Current Astrological Landscape
The Sun spends the beginning of the week finishing its journey through Virgo before moving into Libra.
Mercury continues through Libra, putting plenty of attention on conversations, decisions and our attempts to consider more than one side of a situation.
Venus is still in Scorpio, bringing a little more depth and intensity to relationships, money and the things we value.
Mars continues through Cancer, keeping energy focused around home, family, security and the people we care about.
Meanwhile, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are all retrograde, and Chiron has now retrograded back into Aries. There is still quite a lot of looking backwards happening in the sky, even as the Sun changes signs.
And then there is the Moon.
It is building toward the Aries Full Moon all week.
Full Moons tend to bring things into view. Aries is direct, impatient and much more interested in action than endless deliberation.
Which could make the end of this week feel considerably less quiet than the beginning.
Expanded Transit
Full Moon in Aries — September 26
The Full Moon in Aries is probably the part of this week's astrology that interests me most.
Aries is the first sign of the zodiac.
It is associated with the self, instinct, independence, courage and our willingness to act.
Across from it sits Libra, concerned with relationships, cooperation, fairness and the other people we have to consider.
Neither is wrong.
We need both.
But the tension between them can become pretty obvious when we've been trying to keep too many things going at once.
What do I need?
What do other people need from me?
What am I doing because I want to do it?
And what am I doing because I feel responsible for everything?
This Full Moon arrives only nine days after Chiron retrograded back into Aries, which makes those questions around the self particularly interesting this time around. Chiron returned to Aries on September 17, and the Full Moon reaches 3°37′ Aries on September 26.
Maybe something becomes harder to ignore.
Maybe you're frustrated.
Maybe you're exhausted.
Maybe you've been trying so hard to keep up with everything that you've lost track of what would actually make things feel more manageable.
I don't think the answer is necessarily to do more.
Sometimes the first useful thing is figuring out what doesn't need to be done right now.
I could probably take my own advice on that one.
You Might Notice
Feeling overwhelmed by things that normally feel manageable
Less patience for demands on your time
Wanting to make a decision instead of continuing to think about it
Realizing you've taken responsibility for too much
A stronger need for independence or space
Something you've been putting off becoming harder to ignore
Who This Week Feels Strongest For
Aries — the Full Moon happens in your sign, putting more attention on your own needs, identity and what you're ready to do differently.
Libra — with the Sun moving into your sign and the Full Moon opposite you in Aries, the balance between your own needs and your relationships may become much clearer.
Cancer — Mars continues through your sign, and the Aries Full Moon may bring some tension between what you need personally and what is being asked of you elsewhere.
Capricorn — the Full Moon may put more attention on home, family and the foundations underneath everything else you're trying to manage.
A Good Time To
Decide what actually needs doing
Take something off the list
Deal with one thing instead of thinking about ten
Say no to something you don't have room for
Have a conversation you've been avoiding
Make a decision you've been circling around
Get outside and do something with your hands
