Worth Noticing

We start this week on the other side of the Aries Full Moon.

So if something came to a head last week, or you finally made a decision about something you've been going back and forth on, you may still be sorting through it.

But the bigger shift comes at the end of the week.

On October 3, Venus stations retrograde in Scorpio and will remain retrograde until November 13. 

Venus rules love, relationships, beauty, pleasure, money and the things we value.

When it turns retrograde, some of those things can come up for review.

Relationships.

Spending.

What we want.

What we value.

Even what we find beautiful.

And because this retrograde begins in Scorpio, we may be a little less interested in keeping things on the surface.

Scorpio likes to dig.

Sometimes annoyingly so.

Current Astrological Landscape

We're properly into Libra season now.

The Sun in Libra puts more emphasis on relationships, fairness, compromise and how we get along with other people.

Mercury is moving through the final degrees of Libra, so conversations and decisions may still involve a fair amount of weighing one thing against another.

Venus is in Scorpio and slowing down as it prepares to station retrograde.

Mars has moved into Leo, which is quite a change from the more protective, inward energy of Mars in Cancer.

Leo wants to create, act, be seen and actually enjoy itself.

But Mars runs straight into an opposition with Pluto on October 3 — the same day Venus stations retrograde. Mars and Pluto sitting opposite each other can bring tension around control, frustration and power struggles, so I wouldn't expect October to arrive particularly quietly.

Meanwhile, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and Chiron are still retrograde.

There is a lot being reconsidered right now.

Venus Retrograde — October 3 to November 13

Venus only goes retrograde about once every 18 months, so this isn't something we deal with particularly often. This retrograde begins in Scorpio on October 3, moves back into Libra on October 25, and finally stations direct on November 13. 

So what does that actually mean?

Venus has a lot to do with what we like.

Who we love.

What we're attracted to.

What we spend our money on.

What we think is worth having.

And what makes life enjoyable.

When Venus turns retrograde, astrology traditionally treats it as a time to reconsider some of those things rather than simply carrying on as usual.

You might find yourself thinking differently about a relationship.

Questioning something you've been spending money on.

Changing your mind about something you thought you wanted.

Or realizing that something you used to love doesn't really fit anymore.

And because Venus begins this retrograde in Scorpio, some of those realizations may go a little deeper than deciding you don't like your couch anymore.

Scorpio tends to bring us underneath things.

Trust.

Intimacy.

Jealousy.

Money.

Power.

The things we don't always talk about.

Venus will eventually back into Libra, where the emphasis shifts more toward relationships, fairness and give-and-take. 

We have six weeks of this.

There is no need to figure it all out on October 3.

Scorpio — Venus stations retrograde in your sign, putting relationships, values, pleasure and what you want under a much closer lens.

Taurus — Venus is your ruling planet, so its retrograde may have you reconsidering relationships and what feels worthwhile.

Libra — Venus rules your sign too, and it will eventually retrograde back into Libra. This story may be just getting started for you.

Leo — Mars is now moving through your sign, bringing more drive and momentum, but its opposition with Pluto on October 3 could also make frustration harder to ignore.
