Coming Home
Over the past few weeks, I've found myself thinking a lot about what actually nourishes us.
Not what keeps us busy. Not what keeps us entertained. Not what helps us avoid the things we'd rather not think about.
What genuinely restores us.
Maybe it's the time of year. The garden is growing quickly now, and every day seems to bring something new to harvest, weed, water, or pay attention to. The more time I spend outside, the more obvious it becomes that most living things don't thrive because they're doing more. They thrive because their basic needs are being met consistently.
There's probably a lesson in that.
The shift
The past few weeks have been full of Gemini energy: ideas, information, conversations, distractions, possibilities, and more than a little mental clutter.
This week brings a noticeable shift.
On June 9th, Jupiter leaves Gemini and enters Cancer, beginning a new year-long chapter. The focus moves from gathering information to creating meaning. From thinking about life to living it.
The question changes from:
"What else do I need to know?"
to
"What kind of life am I actually building?"
Current astrological landscape
Sun in Gemini
Gemini season continues to keep things moving. Conversations, learning, networking, and ideas remain active.
Mercury in Cancer
Communication becomes more intuitive and personal. People may be speaking less from logic and more from lived experience.
Venus in Taurus
There is still support for simplicity, pleasure, beauty, and the things that help us feel grounded in everyday life.
Mars in Leo
Creative energy remains strong, but there may be a growing desire to put that energy into projects that feel meaningful rather than simply productive.
Expanded transit: Jupiter enters Cancer
This feels like the real story this week.
Jupiter only changes signs once a year, so when it does, the collective atmosphere tends to shift.
For the past year, Jupiter has been moving through Gemini. We've been gathering information, exploring possibilities, learning new things, consuming content, questioning old ideas, and trying on different perspectives.
Some of that has been exciting.
Some of it has been exhausting.
Now Jupiter moves into Cancer, where it will remain for roughly the next year.
Cancer is associated with home, family, roots, nourishment, belonging, emotional security, and the spaces we create for ourselves and the people we care about.
Which feels particularly relevant right now.
Because after years of constant acceleration, technology, productivity, and information overload, there seems to be a growing desire for simpler things.
More home-cooked meals.
More time in the garden.
More meaningful conversations.
More connection to place.
More time with people who know us well.
Less performing.
Less consuming.
Less trying to keep up.
I don't think this means everyone suddenly moves to the countryside and starts baking sourdough.
But I do think we're entering a period where people become increasingly aware of the difference between what stimulates them and what nourishes them.
And those aren't always the same thing.
You might notice
- a stronger desire to spend time at home
- thinking differently about family or community
- wanting deeper conversations instead of more conversations
- less interest in constant stimulation
- a pull toward gardening, cooking, creating, or nesting
- re-evaluating what success actually looks like
Who this week may feel strongest for
Cancer
Jupiter's arrival brings the beginning of a significant new cycle focused on growth, opportunity, and expansion.
Gemini
A year-long chapter begins to close. Notice what you've learned and what you're ready to carry forward.
Taurus
The focus on simplicity, stability, and building something lasting feels particularly supportive.
Virgo
Community, relationships, and long-term goals may begin taking on new importance.
End of week grounding
The question becomes:
What actually nourishes me?
Not distracts me.
Not impresses other people.
Not keeps me busy.
Nourishes me.
A good time to
- spend time at home
- cook something from scratch
- tend a garden or houseplant
- reconnect with family or close friends
- simplify your schedule
- invest energy into what you want to grow long term

🌿 Cedarwood
For feeling rooted in your own life.

This week's blend invites us to slow down just enough to notice what truly sustains us.
Maybe this week isn't about adding anything new.
Maybe it's about paying closer attention to what's already here.
The people, places, routines, and simple pleasures that help us feel most like ourselves are often easier to overlook than we realize.
