Gemini Season, Pluto Retrograde & Mental Overload
This is part of a weekly Astro-Apothecary series tracking the evolving astrological landscape and its practical application using herbs and aromatics in daily life.
Gemini season arrives with more movement, more noise, and a growing need to decide what actually deserves your attention.
The pace definitely shifts this week. More conversations, more ideas, more things pulling for your attention all at once. It feels a bit like life suddenly opens six browser tabs in your brain before you’ve even finished your morning tea.
I’ve been noticing that strange mix of excitement and mental exhaustion lately. Lots of ideas. Lots of momentum. But also a growing awareness that not everything needs to become something.
The shift
We’re moving from the slower, grounding energy of Taurus season into something much quicker and more mentally active.
Things that felt stalled may suddenly begin moving again. Conversations pick up. Plans start forming. Opportunities appear through random interactions, messages, introductions, or ideas that seem to arrive out of nowhere.
But underneath all that movement, Pluto retrograde is still quietly asking deeper questions about where your energy is going and why.
Current astrological landscape
Sun in Gemini
Gemini season officially begins this week, bringing more movement into communication, learning, networking, writing, travel, and everyday life in general.
Mercury in Gemini
Mercury is very comfortable here. The mind moves quickly, ideas connect faster, and conversations become more important. Great for brainstorming. Slightly dangerous for attention spans.
Venus in Taurus
There’s still a strong need for grounding underneath all the stimulation. Good food, familiar routines, slower mornings, and stable relationships feel especially important right now.
Mars in Leo
Creative energy remains high, but there’s also a tendency to overcommit or burn energy trying to keep up with everything at once.
Expanded transit: Pluto retrograde & Uranus preparing to enter Gemini
Pluto retrograde continues working quietly underneath everything this week.
I don’t think Pluto always shows up dramatically. Sometimes it’s more subtle than that. More like slowly realizing certain things don’t fit anymore, even if they technically still work.
Old goals. Old systems. Old ways of operating. Old expectations you’ve been carrying around because they once made sense.
At the same time, we’re also approaching Uranus entering Gemini for the first time in roughly 84 years, which honestly helps explain why so many people seem mentally overstimulated, restless, or suddenly rethinking everything all at once.
Uranus only changes signs roughly every seven years, so when it does, you tend to feel the collective atmosphere shift pretty noticeably. Once it fully settles into Gemini, it will remain there until 2033, influencing the next several years around communication, information, media, technology, learning, transportation, and the way we process reality mentally.
Put those together and it feels a bit like the collective mind speeding up.
You can already feel hints of it:
- information overload
- constant input
- rapid changes in communication and technology
- people changing direction quickly
- ideas spreading faster than systems can keep up with
I’ve personally noticed this strange tension between inspiration and exhaustion lately. Like there’s creativity everywhere, but also a growing need to protect my attention more carefully.
I think that’s part of the work right now.
Not shutting the world out completely. Just becoming more intentional about what gets access to your mind in the first place.
Because Uranus in Gemini can absolutely bring innovation, creativity, connection, and entirely new ways of thinking. But without grounding, it can also become noise for the sake of noise.
Which is probably why the steadier Taurus energy we’ve been moving through lately feels so important. It’s trying to help us build enough stability internally before everything speeds up externally.
You might notice
- more messages, emails, conversations, or ideas arriving quickly
- mental overstimulation or difficulty focusing
- increased curiosity and desire to learn something new
- feeling socially “on” while internally more selective
- realizing certain commitments are draining more energy than they’re worth
- sudden clarity around what no longer feels sustainable
Who this week may feel strongest for
Gemini
Your season begins, bringing more visibility, communication, movement, and momentum.
Aquarius
Pluto retrograde continues reshaping deeper questions around identity, direction, and future plans.
Virgo
There’s a lot happening mentally this week. Helpful if focused intentionally. Slightly chaotic if not.
Leo
Mars continues fuelling creativity and ambition, but pacing yourself matters more than trying to do everything.
The question becomes:
What actually deserves access to my attention?
Not every opportunity matters.
Not every message requires a response.
Not every idea needs to become a project.
A good time to
- organize scattered ideas into clearer priorities
- reduce unnecessary mental clutter
- follow through on conversations that genuinely matter
- spend more time listening to yourself than the internet
- simplify before adding more
- reconnect with routines that help you feel grounded
APOTHECARY SUPPORT FOR THE WEEK
🌿 Peppermint
For mental clutter and that “everything at once” feeling.
Peppermint has a way of cutting through the noise when your brain feels overstimulated or scattered. Helpful for those days where you keep switching between tasks and somehow finishing none of them.
Brings: sharper focus, mental clarity, cleaner energy
🌿 Lemon
For heaviness, stagnation, and perspective shifts.
Lemon helps clear some of the mental heaviness that builds up when there’s too much input coming from too many directions. Especially helpful when you’ve been consuming too much information, too much social media, or too many opinions that aren’t actually your own.
Brings: freshness, perspective, mental lightness
🌿 Vetiver
For grounding back into yourself when life starts feeling too loud.
Vetiver slows things down in a very steady, practical way. Less “zen spa energy” and more “I can finally feel my feet on the ground again.”
Brings: steadiness, rootedness, calmer pacing
This blend feels especially supportive for staying mentally clear and grounded while Gemini season speeds everything up around you.
This week isn’t really about keeping up.
It’s about learning to separate what’s genuinely meaningful from what’s simply loud.
And honestly, I think both Pluto retrograde and Uranus preparing to enter Gemini are making that harder to ignore.
If this week’s forecast resonates with where you are right now, I’d love to have you continue following along with these weekly Astro-Apothecary updates as we move through the season ahead.
There’s a lot shifting collectively right now, and my hope is that these forecasts continue to offer a grounded way to navigate it—through both astrology and plant support.
