Helichrysum is also known by the names Immortelle and Everlasting. There are over 500 species of helichrysum, but only a few of them produce an essential oil. It’s long been touted in the aromatherapy community as a powerhouse when it comes to skin conditions and respiratory concerns.

Applications

Used in aromatherapy for the symptomatic relief of:
Anticoagulant, severe bruising, hematoma, purifies the blood, drain lymph glands, stimulates liver, kidneys, spleen, and pancreas, eczema, allergies, rashes, psoriasis, decrease swelling, rheumatoid arthritis, bronchitis, sinus infections, cough and inflamed skin.

Used in aromatherapy to help ease emotional symptoms of:
Spirituality, mental agility, grounding and increases dream activity.

History

In traditional herbal medicine helichrysum is used as an expectorant, antitussive, anti- inflammatory, and anti-allergenic agent in Europe. It is usually taken in the form of an infusion or decoction.
