This one's a doozie! Aside from their names sounding identical, these essential oils often get mistaken for each other.
Ravensara aromatica (ray-vin-sara) is the more delicate smelling of the two. With a bright, slightly fruity scent, this oil blends well with oils like bergamot, frankincense and lavender.
Ravintsara camphora (rahv-int-sara) is more closely related to eucalyptus and camphor, with a more spicy, pungent smell. It blends well with eucalyptus, woody, and citrus oils.
But of course, there is no better teacher than experience, so next time you've got these two oils in front of you, put your nose to the test!
