So we do love certain bugs in our gardens and around our plants.
But, unfortunately for them, mosquitos are not on the guest list. You may be familiar with Citronella oil as a popular mosquito repellant.
Here’s an interesting fact; the reason that this oil does its job so well, is because it irritates the feet of mosquitos!
So they will naturally stay away from any surface with Citronella oil particles on it.
Try this blend in a carrier oil the next time you’d like to enjoy some peaceful, mosquito free time outside.
To 1oz carrier oil, add:
- 10 drops Citronella (Cymbopogon nardus)
- 5 drops Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus citriodora)
- 3 drops Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia)
While this makes a low dilution of only 2%, please be sure to always check the safety guidelines of essential oils and do a “patch test” before use.
