Have we mentioned how much we love baths around here? Well, it’s important to treat yourself (very often) to a little something extra in your self-care routine. Here is a luscious and easy bath bomb recipe that you can make at home for your next home-spa day.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Baking Soda
- 0.5 cup Citric Acid (this is what will create the fizzing effect)
- 1 tsp finely powdered Lavender, Rose, Chamomile, Cedar (dried, and powdered in a mortar + pestle or coffee grinder). The combination of these plants are simply a suggestion – you can use any of your favorite plants; get creative!
- 18 drops of our Floral Fusion Synergy Blend (or any essential oil of your choice)
- 0.25 cup Carrier Oil of choice (we recommend Jojoba)
You will also need: A mold of some sort – silicone mini muffin sheets, ice trays, melon ballers usually work well.
A sheet of wax paper
Step 1: Mix powdered herb, citric acid and baking soda in a bowl.
Step 2: Combine the essential oil and carrier oil in a separate bottle, shake well and let sit for a few minutes. This makes a 1% dilution.
Please make sure to research the safety data on essential oils prior to use and do a "patch test" before using any oils on your skin.
Step 3: Slowly combine your liquid mixture to your dry mixture, blending with your hands as you do so. You may not use all of the oil mixture, so gauge the consistency of your bath bomb as you go. It should be just damp enough to stick together when pressed firmly. Save any extra oil for your next batch, or as a body oil.
Step 4: Press the mixture into the molds and let them sit for a few minutes while you clean up.
Step 5: Place your bath bombs on a sheet of wax paper and let sit overnight.
Last but definitely not least, drop a bomb into a warm bath and enjoy!
